Yo, I noticed that some areas had full map rips (like the crossroads and dice's house) on the wiki, but other places didn't have any maps at all. I was told that you were the one who got the map sprites from the game, and I was curious how you managed to get them without screenshots?
I did this a while ago and it wasn't easy. You have to decompile the maps and opening in RPG Maker VX Ace.
I used this script and added it to the game.
I would then run the map directly and run the snapshot script. It goes line but line and manually screenshots each section.
This sucks with stuff like fog, because as the camera moves -- so does the fog so you sometimes get erratic lines. It also fucks up the parallax backgrounds.
To make not crap screenshots, I'd green screen the background of the map, remove the mist (I forgot this part alot). Run the screenshot script, then go into photoshop and add the background in manually :P
In other words, its stupid, dumb and takes forever.
If you wanna try to do this go ahead, if not I can give it another crack as I should finish those pages :P
You know, there's too much images that russian wiki lacks and downloading/uploading all of them by hand would be a real time waste.
There's a thing on wikia called shared images repository. As we (Russian "gamma" wiki) want you (English "alpha" wiki) to share images, we'll need to ask wikia staff for this. It's easy to do, but it seems that there must be permission from you. Note that we'll be able to upload images from your's wiki, but you won't be able to do so from our's.
Hello Superraiden, I have a request. Me and my friend are making a wiki for LISA fan games and mods, and i'm struggling on making templates due to make inability to understand CSS. I was wondering if we could look into this wiki's templates and either, copy small bits of them, or get inspiration. Thanks you for your time.
Hello, Superraiden! I'm a Administrator of Russian LISA Wikia . We need templates that can be reflected, most of the characteristics of an object / being and a better option than ask to take some templates with English-language wiki, we did not find... We can, if we use templates with English language Wikia? (Template will be translated into Russian)
Hey, Superraiden. I want to upload a version of the track "My Lord, My Wally" to a page but I have very little clue as how I can do that. Could you tell me how, or direct me to a guide? I tried the one on the wikia community site but it seems to be outdated/badly worded.
Hey man, I think all you need to do it upload the file to the Wiki just as you would an image (There aren't many guides as the permission had to be requested manually), and then link to the file like:
I havn't found a way to be able to style it yet, however it (should) be that easy, but there may be permission issues, give it a try and report back as to the success :P
Hey Radien, so, joy mutant brad has some attacks, and brad isn't listed on the pages of moves that he uses. (like, joy mutant brad has the skill "blood cough", but doesn't appear on said pages "users" list). So, I want to add them, however, given that that's a massive spoiler, i'm conflicted if I should add his name on the list or keep it out for spoilers reasons. Any input/advice?
I have been meaning to message you actually latly as your millions of edits fill my mailbox with notifications! :P I havn't yet thanked you for the tonne of work you added into the Wiki and fixing up stuff I'd never get around to! So thanks for the countless hours you've helped the community! (Or what ever there is here)
With the blood cough thing, I've been unsure as to the stance of spoiler of places people wouldn't expect -- Maybe we could make some hover 'spoiler' text, so people could only see it if they wanted? But that would be a fair amount of effort for such little text..
I think that if people are searching for the moves this much, they've already played most of the game because ther isn't a huge amount of traffic to move pages. So if you want to add them, I would have no objection to that decision!
Also, because you;ve done an insane amount of work for little praise, I've given you administrator access to the WIki, giving you access to rollback/Delete pages, as well as access the site CCS code and being able to edit the front page. It's not much but I hope it helps in your duties!
What are your further thoughts on the spoiler-move issue?
While a hover-over text thingy would be nice, I don't want to force you to put in too much effort into such a little thing. I could, alternatively add one of those "this page contains spoilers" boxes at the top of pages or add a "spoilers" section below articles that use Marty Armstrong, brad, bolo and yado's attacks... or we could do nothing and just add them normally. Your call.
also, sorry for the edit spam, and thanks for the rights and the act of noticing me. : )
